01. Approach
This project already had a logo for the project the color choices on the other hand were not set. The owner Stefan does service on a wide variety of John Deere and other ag equipment. At the beginning of the project he wanted to make sure people knew he worked on Deere products so we started with John Deere green as a color choice but as the project moved further down the road we went with a stronger black color. This switch was because he didn't want everyone to think all he worked on was Deere products. Almost all of his jobs are done on site so Stefan and his crew of high end mechanics travel the country rebuilding planters and seeders. This is important because we wanted to make sure that people knew that he travels off site so we needed to rank well in a multitude of different states. This project would have been even better if Stefan decided to actually add the verbiage on those specific state pages because it would definitely help him generate more traffic and more jobs. At the end the day, the old saying that you can lead a horse to water applies here.
02. Design
The design was a little challenging because it was a moving target things changed regularly. Once Stefan agreed on the direction we were off to the races. We went with a combination of black, light gray and a muted green as our main colors. The font choice was a very unique AGA Rasheeq font for the headers which was a bold strong sans serif font. The body of the project we utilized a more conventional Helvetica font. Animations were created on scroll down to draw attention to different elements of the website without being overly distracting. The main goal of this project was for the website to be found around the United States so Stefan could book jobs to fix ag equipment. Therefore the SEO component was extremely importatn, we researched relevant keywords and built a site optimized for search. The website was built on HTML5 to help guide search engines on what the site was about.

03. Technology
The Quality Drills project is a totally responsive design based on CSS Grid Layout with a Flexbox fallback. That means the project is not reliant on an outside library of code like Bootstrap to be fully responsive. The starting point was HTML5 Boilerplate to make sure the project was utilizing current best practices and most browser based styling was reset using Normalize.css. We don't utilize templates so all coding was done by hand using the Brackets code editor. The Quality Drills team is also able to add blog articles, maintain the verbiage and images on the site by utlizing Perch as the content management system. Every page in the project was validated and confirmed to be W3C compliant. All css files are modular in nature so Gulp was used to combine and condense all CSS files in the final project build in order to make the page load speed better. The final page load speed is bogged down a little and averages about 2 seconds per page. CSS and javascript animation was created by using the following libraries Animate.css, Hover.css, Hint.css & AOS.css. Other code and libraries used include Modernizr, jQuery, Akismet and Google Analytics. Software utilized to create this project included Brackets, Photoshop, Perch CMS, VectorMagic.com and CompressPNG.com.
